Agnella Izzo Matic, PhD, CMPP, is a medical writer and Certified Medical Publication Professional. With a PhD in biomedical engineering and an Essential Skills certificate from the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), she possesses advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex research and translate it for many different audiences. Agnella has developed scientific publications and educational materials for the American Medical Association, Catamount Medical Education, Clementia, Johnson and Johnson Global R&D, Mead Johnson, Scientific Global Communications, and University of Southern California, among others.
Dr. Matic earned her BE in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University and PhD in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University. With an internationally-recognized research portfolio in biomedical engineering, she has authored 21 peer-reviewed publications and spoken at 29 scientific conferences. Her research has been featured in Nature Photonics, MIT Technology Review, and New Scientist, among others. Dr. Matic is currently a member of the American Medical Writers Association, the Association for Women in Science, and the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals.
