XVIVO and Frieslandcampina Bring The Science of Milk to Life in 3D

Experience a Visual Journey in to the Science and Nutrition of Milk

ROCKY HILL, CT - (Sept 26, 2011) Internationally-acclaimed XVIVO Scientific Animation was chosen to create a revolutionary new 3D animation for the Netherland-based multinational dairy company FrieslandCampina showcasing the complexities, science, beauty and nutrition of milk: The Science of Milk.

Around the world, FrieslandCampina brings over 130 years of commitment to sustainable dairy production and supplies an estimated 8.8 billion kilograms (approximately 2.3 billion gallons) of milk each year. But how many milk drinkers truly understand the science behind what is in each glass, and ultimately the unique and powerful benefits milk provides? Read More »

FrieslandCampina's goal in creating The Science of Milk was to inspire global audiences about the innovative science behind milk and sought out a global partner to create an animation that told this story. XVIVO was chosen based on their proven abilities to translate complex science into a visually-stimulating and educational experience.

XVIVO's Creative Director and Partner Michael Astrachan states, "We are thrilled to partner with FrieslandCampina and use the latest 3D visual technology to tell this story. Our goal creating The Science of Milk was to enlighten and inspire each viewer about science, as well as expose the innovative processes and discoveries behind something most of us consume every day and probably don't give a second thought to." Michael ended with, "Got science?"

"Milk is one of nature's richest source of nutrients, but even though it seems simple, it is a fascinating and complex product full of unique molecules and interactions," states Ruud J.W. Schoemaker, Senior Researcher at FrieslandCampina. "XVIVO's attention to detail and ability to create an engaging, easy to understand story behind this extraordinary product was key to bringing nature's generous contribution to life."

XVIVO Launched Two Animations at Ted Global: The Stuff of Life in Edinburgh, Scotland (Hide This)

Celebrating and Exploring Life Through Visual Art

ROCKY HILL, CT - (July 19, 2011) Internationally-acclaimed XVIVO Scientific Animation will be showcasing their animations at TED GLOBAL: THE STUFF OF LIFE. Bringing together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, TED GLOBAL is a "celebration of life in all of its forms" and asks each of their 50+ speakers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less. XVIVO is proud that 2 of their animations were showcased at this year's event, helping bring the secrets of biological processes to life.

Created by XVIVO, the 2 video projects featured at TED GLOBAL include:

* Featured speaker Jessica Green of the BioBe Center in Oregon partnered with XVIVO to develop a 1 minute animation to help people visualize microbial biodiversity in the built environment. Ms. Green's goal with this animation was to help people understand the important role microbes play in every facet of our lives, ranging from climate change to building ecosystems, human health to roller derby. With her experience as a professor at the University of Oregon, Jessica sought out XVIVO's design and medical expertise to use non-traditional tools - like art, animation and film - to help people visualize the invisible world.

* Proud to partner with featured software company autodesk, XVIVO utilized their proprietary software, expertise and tools as an integral part of the creative process for a 3 minute animation. The convergence of science and art is realized through the tools autodesk has made available to the world, and the knowledge and talent of XVIVO's animation and production teams created an excellent end product to showcase at TED GLOBAL.

States XVIVO's Vice-President Robert Krensel, "We're ecstatic for the trust and confidence our client's place in our team to help bring their visions of life to life. Our interactive animations uniquely offer the ability to educate and entertain by creating a scientifically-accurate visual journey that most people have never experienced in traditional media."
