bowel, Chronic Idiopathic Constipation, CIC, constipation animation, digestion animation, IBS-C, Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation, large intestine, tight junction, XVIVO
These clips, from a project discussing the mechanisms of disease of Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C), depict micro-anatomy of the bowel from the level of microvilli which cover the bowel surface, down to the traffic of ions and proteins absorbed and secreted through specialized tight junction structures that bind villus surface cells together.
“Through their creative prowess and technical mastery, XVIVO is defining and redefining the very frontier of scientific animation. As science and medicine explore increasingly remote realms, their work provides a vital link allowing researchers and the general public to grasp visually an astonishing landscape of new possibilities.”
